Chapel Hill, Rozelle

Chapel Hill is a new Presbyterian Church in Rozelle. Its first public service will begin at 10.30 a.m. on Sunday, 1 March 2015, at 665A Darling St, Rozelle NSW 2039. A creche and kids church will run concurrently with the morning service. Afterwards there will be morning tea followed by “lunch in the area” for those interested.

Chapel Hill is describing itself as the “Newest Neighbour” as it aims to joyfully serve the people in its neighbourhood. Michael Nhieu, the pastor, says that members of the church aim to bring new life in Jesus to Sydney’s Inner West by “loving God passionately, loving others deeply and loving the world boldly.”

Planting Chapel Hill is a timely and strategic opportunity to reach Sydney’s ‘new urbanism’, a growing movement of many artists, students, professionals, young families and empty nesters returning and moving towards the city and into the Inner West. This movement is creating an increasingly large, diverse and critical urban mission field in the cultural centre of our city.

Jenny Baptism

We are overjoyed to share that our Canadian friend, Jenny, has committed her life to Christ! and together as a church with some of her friends we recently celebrated her baptism before she returns to Canada. What an absolute joy and encouragement it has been for us to journey with Jenny and witness her hunger for Christ and the way she naturally shares this with those around her. We are so thankful that God has allowed our paths to cross during her time in Sydney and ask that you would continue to uphold Jenny in prayer as she returns to life in Canada and continues to grow in Him.

For prayer

Please continue to pray for the Chapel Hill team as they prepare for the church’s public launch.

Praise God with us for the growth of our church family and  for how he has been maturing us as the Body of Christ. We also have some kids coming along from time to time, which has given us the opportunity to start our Kids Church program.

As the year unfolds, please continue to ask God to form his people into a church that reflects the love of Christ and grows in his likeness.
