Several paths exist for planting new Presbyterian churches. Some congregations plant new congregations on their own. May God bless them and grant them good success!

Often there is a desire to plant a church but the local resources are inadequate. In those situations, people turn to the Ministry and Mission Committee for help. In all such situations, the Committee requires assessment of the proposed church planting project and a two-fold assessment of the proposed planter to consider their suitability for church planting generally, and then their suitability to operate within the Presbyterian Church. The documents available here facilitate assessment of the project and the person from a denominational perspective. The assessment of general aptitude is conducted by The Geneva Push or by City to City Australia.

Also available on this page are guidelines for planting with a steering committee and for congregations wanting to plant in another presbytery.
